the wallets contain a 3" cd and fold out post insert, numbered to 250 copies. gps21 mv + ee 'old black joe' 7" wonderful smoked out blues with erika elder lead vocal and refrained geetar genius from mv. byron coley sleevenotes. 500 only ready late jan/early feb. 500 only... gps22 pet politics 'spring' ep 7" 300 numbered 7''s in circular, shell like sleeves- killer lo-fi, psych pop from swedish one man outfit pet politics. gps23 'it happened on a day' v/a 10" fabulous, long promised 5 trk 10' single featuring exclusives from the combined might of tunng, the woodcraft folk, the laughing windows, shady bard and adam leonard w/ p.g six. gps24 wooden wand and the omen bones band 'horus of the horizon' 10" wooden wand and the omen bones band (satya sai and hush arbors' keith wood) on a fabulous 6 trk 10" of a previously mailorder only cd (on three lobed recordings). total classic and amongst the very best in the mighty wand canon. gps25 tranko 'neko 77/mujam' 7" killer debut 45 from japanese psych band- whacked out moog / sitar collision like some holy Acid Mothers / Popol Vuh jam with Ananda Shankar at the controls. 300 only in cool circular Indian art sleeves. single of the week on various online sites (some joint with the mv+ee released at the same time) ... gps26 whsyp 'sun without end' (family ep) 7" hazy high end vocal harmonies backed with subtle sitars (courtesy of skygreen leopards, part time wooden wand backing guy glenn donaldson) which aim for the stars yet quickly turn into a darker beast as the piece closes out. a beautiful 45 in fliptop match wallet style sleeves made from linen card and in a run of 300 only... gps27 the see see 'up the hill/citadel shuffle' 7" debut 45 from what has become something of a multi-national supergroup of sorts. ex-eighteenth day of may mainguy, richard olson, soledad brothers drummer ben swank, former gps 45 guy pete greenwood on guitars and lap steel and kevin peyok. 2 fabulous slices of southern u.s folk rock, recalling gene clark, the byrds and burritos with a passing nod to big star perhaps. beautiful, soaring vocals and a gem of a 45 to open up with. early gigs included bill doss from the olivia tremor control - unsurprising given the uplifting nature of the sunny psych tunes within. 300 only 45 given the usual GPS packaging treatment... gps28 jack rose 7" fabulous jack rose 45 in cool booklet sleeves, edition of 500. killer reworkings of 'revolt' and 'soft steel piston' with the black twigs. came and went in 24 hours! gps29 c joynes 'the running board' lp numbered edition of 200 lps gps30 jerusalem and the starbaskets & hush arbors split duo coloured 7" vinyl gps31 melodie du kronk LP debut LP that came and went in 72 hours. whacked out, moog mayhem that recalls the likes of cluster and harmonia in tandem with early stereolab and holy fuck. 1st 50 for mailorder come with screenprinted panels / alternate sleeves. 200 numbered copies now sold out... gps32 elephant micah 'equine emblem' 7" incredibly beautiful 4 trk EP, featuring 4 joe o'connell penned gems. housed in sweet screened sleeves and numbered in an edition of 370... gps33 mv&ee 'the best it ever was' 7" 500 copy 45 in neat linen card sleeves. matt and erika's 2nd gps 45, this one's a bass led, smoked out nugget and is down to the last few copies... gps34 jerusalem and the starbaskets/bengal traitor split 7" formidable split 45 coupling the JATS mighty 'everybody's dig accounted for' with ferocious velvets meets sonics burnout b/w the stoned out 'sumtimes' from the james and jessica toth (WW) alter-egos the bengal traitors. 350 copies in 2 part, op-art psych sleeves. single of the week in a number of online places... gps35 remos third ear 'ep' 7" wonderful debut EP from Swedish, psychedelic folk mystics. three incredible, almost eerie tracks with a 'late night, middle of the woods' feel, featuring fuzz sitar, zither as well as 6 and 12 string guitars... brought to you by the guys partly responsible for the recent reissue of Swedish folk legend Joakim Skogsberg's awesome 'jola rota' album from 1971, providing you with a pointer to where these guys collective heads' lie. 300 copies on 7" vinyl only, given the usual GPS packaging treatment... gps36 tom baxendale 'her ghost' 7" beautiful debut 45 from London singer songwriter Tom Baxendale. ace blend of alt country, folk and Americana, with an A side rush of acoustic guitar and mandolin recalling atmospheric odes to love and loss. The B side lowers the tempo and is way more gentle, recalling perhaps, 'gosdin brothers' era Gene Clark. regular gigging partner to previous GPS debutant Pete Greenwood. a pressing of 300 copies in gorgeously cool orange and green tracing paper booklets... gps37 dreams of tall buildings 'video rose' lathe cut a 123 copy lathe cut triangular disc, packed into silver carpet underlay "sleeves" with unique silver on black triangular inserts, with burnt in / branded "dotb" logos. because of the size of the finished records (13" x 13" x 13"), copies were not available from the label direct as mailorder packaging was made nightmarish by it's dimensions! gps38 crayon 'a house is not a horse' 7" Leeds based three piece Crayon offer up what some longterm GPS devotees may see as a departure to it's usual output. sombre synth tones and military like drum rolls give way to an infectious, startling pop rush of a chorus. perfect pop in a nutshell. B side 'milk' is a slow building, initially, glitchy electronic piece again with a cool pop sensibility as it's underbelly that soon explodes... a fabulous record and a band to keep yr eye out for. ace 2 piece sleeves with inserts galore - a hand numbered pressing of just 300 only. gps41 the see see 'keep your head' 7" second single from the band following last year's 'sold out in a week' debut which led to support slots with the raconteurs amongst others. killer 45 with a nudge to the byrds, buffalo springfield and big star... please note: sloppy record label HQ error, there are indeed 2 x gps41s. the member of staff has been dealt with accordingly. gps42 the smiles and frowns 'mechanical songs' 7" beautiful debut 45 from u.s. duo who offer up the very lo-fi, cyclical, almost otherworldly sounding "mechanical songs" backed with the fabulous "echoes of time". 2 irritatingly catchy tunes that stay with ya long after each has ended. think elements of galaxie 500, low, young marble giants, merged with the quieter side of the left banke or perhaps the west coast pop art experimental band.
